Philippine fiesta are held to give thanks to a patron saint and to celebrate his holiness and to remember his good and kind acts towards to other creations of God while his living. There is another form of Philippine fiesta which is also celebrated to ask for forgiveness. Every fiesta has its own date to celebrate, but how did fiestas got his own date of celebration? The dates are given by the Holy Catholic Church and sometimes taken from the date were a patron saint died.
Philippine fiestas started even before the conquistadores arrived in the country in the 1500's. Before, the fiestas are celebrated through rituals and offerings which is headed by every tribes' leaders. And ever since, fiestas are done to ask the heaven a good luck for the rest of the year.
Every place in the Philippines has its own fiesta celebration, whatever date and time of the year it is, for sure that there's a fiesta being celebrated somewhere!
