Sinulog Festival is held every year in every third week of January in Cebu City in honour of the image of miraculous Sto. Nino that was thought to be carried to the country by the navigator Ferdinand Magellan on the late 1500's. It is a dance ritual with the sound of the drums and other instruments that's resembles to what was known as Cebu's Pahina River.
The Sinulog festival is characterized by a long grand parade of people dressed with colourful and beautiful costumes while dancing their own steps and shouting "Viva Pit Senior!" along their way to the streets of the city. Shouting those words is their own way to thank and to be heard by the Sto. Nino. The Sinulog is indeed a part now of the history that greatly affects the Catholic Faith and Christianity of the Filipinos.Viva!
